It Takes Practice

I am hurting so much
Thought I made that clear
I’ll do my crying alone
Best you don’t come near

Asking can you help
In your sweet caring way
Again I shall refuse
Better that you stay away

Your heart reaching
In each loving expression
Offering me your light
To my darker depression

I heard every word
You had left me thinking
Although I remain low
Heart broken and sinking

Shrug your shoulders
Remove the helping hand
Because being ignored
Is what I can understand

Show me no sympathy
Be amused with the fact
The jokes are on me
Displaying this happy act

Humour hides pain
Drowning in these tears
I know how to smile
I’ve practiced for years

Hope I guess there's no hope!  According to this interesting write of yours. Just a smile to ease the pain....maybe I misunderstood....very well structured poem meter and rhyme excellent!
