The Summoning of My Soul…

The soulful wail
of the blues guitar
calls out to my spirit,
almost as though
the notes have gathered about me
and are pulling me into the bar

the smoky brume disguises the
the musician whose beckoning
has lured me here

the moaning of the strings
at his mercy cause me to close
my eyes and sway to it’s whine

passing through a dimly lit haze
I find my movement is involuntary
and there he is

the magic, the seduction,
all performed by one lonely blues man

one man, one guitar,
summoning my soul….

Oh God I've loved the blues for so long that I can't even remember ever being without them. Yeah the pull of the blues and the blues guitar is mystic and uncontrollable.

Like John Lee Hooker said in his song...."the blues is a healer" I know he means that in every way you can imagine....love, hurt, reflections and seductions.... hey it's the blues baby!

Gosh, it has been so long since I have posted, I almost forgot the wonderful
feeling of such positive feedback.

Thanks to each of you, and I am so glad
to see like fans of the blues.

This particular blues man was playing in
a bar in the strip in Palm Springs, Ca.
If you have ever been there you you know
how the music drifts onto the sidewalk and pulls you in.
