Sweet, Sweet Wine

The wine of sweet serenity
The vineyard brewer’s cup of tea
From crystal stemware’s sparkling lip
Is poured a mellowed ageless sip

The drink of friendship, love and life
The brew that quenches pain and strife
Stirs all the passion of it’s balm
Into the mix of midnight calm

A tea that stewed in barrel’s well
Where smooth aromas churn and swell
Now from the rim of goblet tips
To pour its fragrance on your lips

The grapes that rendered such a brew
That warms the blood inside of you
Were grown with care from nourished earth
Then crushed for fruits of other worth

The future potion for the mind
Now hangs in clusters from a vine
To be the purple, red and white
Of midnight moon and star’s delight

As for me, my greatest thrills
Come not from grapevine, nor from stills
The passion held within my glass
Are rendered joys as moments pass

My cup contains a vintage tea
Of land and earth, of sky and sea
The balm that settles on my lips
Is savored taste of tender kiss

What beautiful images you paint here. And the comparisons to wine - I was having a great time with wine myself last night (but that's another story

The passion held within my glass
Are rendered joys as moments pass

This is just so pretty. So beautifully put. Thank you for sharing this this morning
