Listening to every heart

0 posted 2001-09-01 09:41 PM

Etchings

tapped keys behold
tenacious thoughts
quick to be
deleted in bits and
bytes
removal of same from
monitored I’s that
know better
than to reveal so much
too soon

truth

pen in hand
script’s recall of
penmanship taught

curls to lines to curls
encircling round
white memories laden
with burdens of
permanence,
not so
easily deleted, even
when held to flames
before one’s eyes

in its reality
when one can
feel between one’s
finger
the soul that made
them become,

made more
memorable
than what is seen
now…

truth be told

only when it is written
on the heart
does permanence
remain….

write me…

etch for me some
remembrance that seeds
sown will bear
to nourish your soul

even if no linen of
lines curled to
round lay between
fingertips

beholding only bits and
bytes of tenacious
ideals
captured only if one
knows how to
turn it on…

Oooo, I love a poet's poem.
I love this, Sunshine!

"etch for me some
remembrance that seeds
sown will bear
to nourish your soul"

Indeed, indeed.

"curls to lines to curls
encircling round
white memories laden
with burdens of
permanence, not so
easily deleted, even
when held to flames
before one’s eyes"

Funny, just the other night I was thinking about burning a piece . . . what's that all about . . . trying to be done with it???

Good work, this.

OH YOU KNOW...you must know, what Im about to say to this....
I WISH I HAD WROTE THIS!!!

*smiling at Ethomes reply*
read it as if you were holding it up to the flame...
read it as if you were a moth
read it in my library cuz its a keeper

A man who asks a woman to lie for him, is a man who will lie to that woman.
A woman who lies for a man, is a woman who lies to herself.

Excellent. I removed the "I's" earlier from a Love poem I wrote. As an open book I can appreciate subtlety in others.

I need to read this again, very good writing, the thoughts seem to spill over onto the keyboard, and yes, I think most of what you type is going to be permanent.
Now, the other meanings in here, seem many and I have to re-read

Ah, yes......you captured me with the ending!
"..only if one knows how to turn it on"!! So well put, and so very true!!!!!

The road goes on forever, and the stories never end...

Very thoughtful piece, and tall order.  Probably why the switch is so hard to find.

This is a simple and complex piece....I have read it several times and got something new out of it each time...I like *S*
