Lights, Camera, Action

I watched this movie last night
about a man and woman
fighting for a life
one they knew of and one
a glimpse of
what could be and what if's
and I started thinking about
how life is so hard to love
in
we love to death
the dreams
and we wish to the stars
our hopes
but when we hit the brick wall
of fact
that's when my hair gets
tangled in the stones and
waits till the tears come
before it
lets go

in this movie, about this man
and woman
were lives torn apart by the
glimpse but
brought back by the same
a bump in their
sight a
speed trap that said
slow down and think
feel
just remember
however

when I hold on to my
glimpses all I end
up with is
another headache from
that wall
to the head
and it's not that I can't
live without ...
because I have been
without

but... I'm having one of
those days,
you know the kind that happen
after you watch a movie
or read a book in which
there really
was a happy ending and
you start thinking..

why ... isn't that me
well the truth is, because our
life isn't a movie up on the
damn silver screen and we didn't
have a script handed to us ahead
of time
to know the outcome of a scene.. but
had I known, would I still have played
that moment in my life..
when
with an open hand, I help out hope
and love
and ... my heart

would I have laid in his arms
giving it all, risking, no matter what
because in that moment.. I believed
In love..
If I had known that wouldn't be enough
If I had seen long auburn hair
hanging over a woman's face, to hide
her eyes ... while she stood
in the rain, alone ... and her heart.. in her
hand.. barely beating, not sure where it
belonged
if I saw this woman, throw back her head
and release the primal cry from her soul
fall to her knees
so that the wet red earth could swallow her
swallow her pain

would I still have stood on the mark
listened for the director to shout
action and made the move
into his arms ....
yes ... because dammit
   I still believe in love
and, I still choose
Us

I so understand this poem.  Personally, though, I think I would ask for a body double if I had to play the scene again.

Very interesting read. Oh the heartache of love. The emotion, the pain. Been there, done that - not in a hurry to go there again. I'd better not say more - look at the time and I've been drinking wine all evening.

I like Duncan's idea about getting the body double.
