Light

My wick burns low I need more bite
More tallow for forever’s night
The shallow of the wick burns low
The tallow and the wick die slow.

A wave of whispers’ sigh to me
They bring dark mist from out the sea.
That breaks upon a weakened shoal
That mutes my light and takes its toll.

The stars have feeble to small awe
There bright is but a blur no more.
Where once they bore a diamond shine
They dim within this mind of mine.

Yet still the light has some to burn
Perhaps to light a future earn
A one to light the dark anew
To bright the dark a lighter blue

My wick burns low I need more bite
More tallow for forever’s night.

Sy--I think even in the dark without a wick of light, you would shine!

Perhaps some fresh oxygen is called for to inspire the light once more...?  True to your form and style, and I enjoyed.

Thy words give off ... an infinite light
Shining silver ... in mine endless night
Reflected hues ... white hot shades of blue
Thou art one and the same ... the heat and the flame
And with out shame ... thy moth I remain

I have a drawer in which it holds
candles of bright, good as gold
I shall hand over, one by one
to light your way, till there is Sun...

Bravo, Sy...Bravo...

Dear Seymour, Your "wave of whispers" did more than "sigh to me", they spoke loud and clear. Thankyou for your ease of words.

Your poem has a great flow and superb images.
It's this kind of poetry that keeps bringing me back.
Really wonderful!
