Poetry:

A composite niche
Of
Divine beauty,
Tragic memories,
And
Passionate thoughts

Perfectly exposed

To our searching
Hearts.

Very well said Mark, it is all of that.

Yes!

btw, the title...does that mean you are writing verses in 20 words or less?

Since they were numbered, I've not been reading them because I missed too many, if it was a series that each item was not independent of the others.

Sandra:  this one was inspired by a handout in class the other day which had descriptive quotations from various poets regarding their definitions of poetry...

Thanks, Dan -- all that, and then some...

Enchantress:  thank you kindly -- just a personal angle on the undefinable...

Virgina, yes -- exactly:  this was a series I started a while back, completely unconnected, one from the other, with the exception that all of these poems are to be written using 20 or less words -- a grand experiment/change for me since I tend to revolve around wordy poems with very strict form, cadence, and rhyme, so this is very liberating, to say the least.  Anyway, thanks for the read and comments.  Hope you enjoy some future ones in this series too!

Okay, you know I have to be different. What about the flashing moments of thought that spindle the pages of rare expression and yet fiberous material of heart and mind. Like the weird stuff and freight trains of reality. That is poetry in motion and substantial to the etchings of what we revere
as essence in the dredges of life and love. Every thing can't be just pitter, without a little patter of revealing the non lucidity.
Just a thought. You know...the other stuff.

Sincerely,
Regina

Thanks, James -- just a quick impression...

Charisma, thank you -- simply expressing an opinion...

Regina, you are priceless -- I smile with appreciation for another unique and bold mind...
