Evelyn Elizabeth

She came to us sweetly into the morning
Wrapped so completely in petals of pink
Delicate rose bud, unfurling her splendor
A silhouette rendered in God’s holy ink

She came on a white wing, of angel soft feather
As God sent her tenderly down to the earth
She came in the silence of life’s expectation
Of heart’s celebration of love and of birth

A ribbon surrounding the light of her essence
Had already bound child to mother at once
She came with gold threads woven into a family
Embracing  a father and two little sons

She placed tiny fingers upon her sweet cheeks
The scent of her lingers in wraps she has worn
The fragrance of purity,  face of the innocent
A baby was heaven sent, tenderly born

She came to us gently, on breezes of glory
God’s beautiful story is being retold
She came to us sweetly in breath of the morning
So precious and warming, a gift to behold

She came in God’s presence, his vigil above her
To guide and to love her from moment of birth
And He will be with her some day when she gives
The same gift that lives in her future on earth

She came to us gently in sun’s gleaming light
Wrapped in a soft angel feather of white

Aha...Middle name shall be Angel then!  This is charming, and once again, a huge hug and congratulations, Grandmother Elizabeth!

Little Evelyn is truly an angel... and this is a wonderful poem to greet her with...

This is as close as I can come until Liz gets some pictures developed...

A great big CONGRATULATIONS!

This tribute is so well written with such perfect meter and rhyme. Just like you always write, but you've made this occasion special with your special poetic gift!
Write on dear poet Grandmother!!
