I've seen Passions in Poetry grow from its infancy, and have never been any less than awestruck at its overwhelming progress. This phenomenon is surely the result of the thousands of wonderful and talented members we've acquired, though we all know that the success of Passions stems directly from the efforts of one very special man. I've chosen to take this small milestone of a post and dedicate it to him, since his constant and selfless energies are the foundation of this wonderful site. For you, Ron Carnell - I'm proud to call you my "Ever Dearest Friend"... p.s. - Does this mean I'm not a rare bird anymore?  What's seeming now eternally ago, I met a gentle and poetic man ~ Hence poets here all privileged to know. The stage a grand poetic respartee Of melding minds; true friendship then bestowed. So much to say, yet words got in the way. Soon followed Open Poetry in blue, Evolving to the Passions of today. Thence nary way predicting its ensue. Lent from the heart and given selflessly This gift to all, a cyber world, anew Circle of friends, Passions in Poetry. Now stands a worldly googolplex of rhyme With no refrain from generosity, Our Passions product cryptic prime times prime. The best because it's given the utmost Friends without walls, a place that none can mime For wisdom and humility are Passions' boast Upon whom now so many do depend In gratitude for all, our Passions' host. To you, Ron, Thanks - my Ever-Dearest Friend. Count googols times ten thousand if you can, For there is no begin and certainly no end Of giant hugs, for you, with love, from Nan. Lovely way of expressing thanks. I just found this site recently and am enjoying it very much. I too would like to thank Ron for starting the site, and thank you all for sharing your beautiful poetry. I think I'll stay here awhile Tracey If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please? |

Hello Nan it's wonderful to see you considering I'm unable to spend so little time here these days. Congratulations!!!!!! The poets like you who were here when I became a member have become some of my favorite writers of all time. Passions is a great place. Thanks for sharing with us all. This poem says sooo much about Ron. Ron Thank You for this wonderful place. This is a special place created by a special man. PS I often feel like I haven't gotten to know any of the wonderful people here at Passions as well as I'd like to or that I keep up with all the happenings and things. Nan, I have not been here long, but I can see your 10,000 have made a lot of folks smile. I enjoy this forum and thank the people that started it and nurtured it to make it make it what it is. There are hundreds of chat rooms and boards and they all seem to be the same. This is a great format and a lot of very nice people. Best wishes on your next 10,000. Death comes not when we cease to breathe, but when we cease to dream. |
