altered state of mind

0 posted 2001-08-28 12:56 PM

I'm sent from above,
Yet I was born below.
I'm fostered where
Your deepest fears grow.

I simply adore it where
The foul winds doth blow,
And i greatly abhore it when
The golden sun shows.

I was mightily reared,
I'm heavenly known,
Still I like it best
Where chaos is sewn.

I speak only truth,
Though live only lies,
There for I'm the creature
That both sides despise.

I'm shrouded in holiness,
And littered with sins.
I dwell among demons,
Yet cherubs are kin.

So before you pass judgement,
I think you should know...
Though I'm sent from above,
I was born below.

darkling, very different.  Each line sent me one place and then the next line sent me to another.  I like it, though.  Lots of thought.  Welcome,  ME

This is a very cool write...
well done rhyme and flow, but tis the dark edge and cryptic confessions that make this so interesting.
clever write of both dark and light and the shadows that lie between.
Welcome to Poetry Land, I look forward to more of your work

Gotta love an underdog...and you've redefined it!  Very satisfying to read this.  Can't wait for the encore.
