How I love to kiss
The eyes of the child within you
Slumbering
In our lavender dreamscape

I have loved you
A thousand lifetimes
Before the sanctum of this realm

In the first tinkling of notes
Our love was born

You know the accent
Of my inner aria
Where others find me foreign
You welcome me home

You know the scent
Of our down feathered comfort
There is where you'll always find me

When, alas I cannot sing
You play my heartstrings for me

It is your silhouette I adore
In morning's stage of pale
You are always the familiar
In the hall of pinched light

As you dream in rainfall
And fluttering of night wings
My head will always find peace
In the vibrato of your rising

Falling in symphony

Ending in percussion

Drifting into distant thunder

Slipping into lyrical repose

Regina
Such an exquisite portrayal of true romance you have given us......absolutely wonderful!
Lavendars and purples are my favourite colors and the title certainly grabbed my attention.  Take care......Sue

you have knocked me socks off with this one, and left me in the mood to play footsie too!

This is stunning work, my friend!

Every now and then I read something that makes me remember a poet forever...and now I will faithfully look for your name in the scrolls. Wonderful!

Endearing throughout, the above stanza so crisp and defining!

Regina this is super heart felt writing...

                                   "You know the accent
                                       Of my inner aria
                                  Where others find me foreign
                                    You welcome me home"

The comfort of the familiarity of a long lasting love captured so well here. The freshness of the romance still there though saged but so deep and peaceful.....

This is an excellent reflective poem of feelings

Have a nice day

Soothing music for a lucky Loved one.

"Dream of days when work was scrappy,
Rare in our pockets the mark of mint,
We were angry and poor and happy,
And proud of seeing our names in print"
