I didn't want to be there.
dry-mouthed from night before.
But I went..and wore my bangles,
and pants so tight? I wore no drawers.
(I worried, about panty-lines)
I worried so much then
of lions without tooth, declawed--
I walked straight into den.

Maneuvering the Firebird
amidst the Harleys in a herd
We drove slowly under eyes
in suspicion of decide
they slowly moved toward our car
until we had the greet of friend.
We heard the call
of "let them in..."
welcome of the open arms...

There was no carpet,
rolled out red,
but every thought
was ours instead...
If I wanted cigarette?
I pulled it from my pack--lit red.
Anything I might enjoy--
was there for me, at my employ.

We got there in the bright of day,
and made so welcome that we stayed.
anyplace was home back then
when "our band" was on the stage.

But there was one, grew fond of me?
I thought: "Mondo? Climb a tree.."
But I knew the etiquette--
No open mouth--just cigarette.
My boyfriend? He was in a jam
He'd have to fight to claim my hand.

(to be continued? It's a LONG story...)
