~Admiration of Inspiration~

Might I linger in the moody mysteries of your mind
May I gaze into your intensity until I willingly go blind
For then I would read your thoughts with infusing fingertips
Tracing the unturned pages of your profound poetic scripts

To explore the caliginous corners of your intellect's core
To dwell in your dark spaces, the places never seen before
Drawn to your shades of gray, illuminated with my fascination
Intrigued by your mind at play, captivation illustrated with admiration

Might I view the world through your mind's eye of perception
Witness the moment of your inspiration's sagacious conception
Leaf through the memories pressed between pages of your recall
Read between your lines, for your every verse and rhyme enthrall

To delve into your persuasion's philosophies
Sating and saturating my ever insatiable curiosities
To define and detail the genius of your poetic stroke
To inhale the essence of emotion your words invoke

To drown in your sultry still waters running deep
Immerse me in the release of your sensual silent keep
To discover the secrets that lie behind your champagne eyes
Intoxicated by your intentions, I remain mesmerized, hypnotized

To then grant you the vision ... to accept these gifts you possess
This my poetic confess ... your every express leaves a lasting impress

Oh my..you have managed to inspire what you actually wrote about...a piece of art here.
And you? Sometimes I wonder, if you are not so busy adoring the works of others, that you forget to read your own. If you didn't have a memory like a claw trap? I would send you your own poetry, under a different name, just to see you praise yourself. You just wrote about yourself. We love you, Jan.

This verse stuck with me because of the many planes of inspiration that it crossed. You've got that good old muse really working in this one......excellent all the way through Janet!
You are such an inspired poet Janet and such an inspiration to others and I for one have always appreciated your fine soulful talent. The soul part always shows up and takes your work to another level.....It's VANtastic!  You might know that I'd write that.. he he     Write on poet princess...write on!!

Come, for the night is cold,
The ghostly moonlight fills
Hollow and rift and fold
Of the erie Ardise hills!

The windows of my room
Are dark with bitter frost,
The stillness aches with doom
Of something loved and lost.

Outside, the great blue star
Burns in the ghostland pale,
Where giant Algebar
Hold on the endless trail.

Come, for the years are long,
And silence keeps the door,
Where shapes with the shadows throng
The firelit chamber floor.

Come. for thy kiss was warm,
With the red embers glare
Across thy folding arm
And dark tumultuous hair!

The curtains seem to part;
A sound is on the stair,
As if at last...I start;
Only the wind is there.

Lo, now far on the hills
The crimson fumes uncurled,
Where the cauldron mantles and spills
Another dawn on the world!

Written by Bliss Carman (1861 - 1929)  a renowned Canadian author from my home town....Fredericton, New Brunswick  This poet is a great inspiration to me.

This is a fantastic example of why I admire you! In your seldomness, you save that which transpires across the page from the deepest well of your heart. Sort of like revealing a beautiful trinket of pure gold. A keepsake that you have no idea how priceless it is.

Look at you write.  Good gosh, so your muse takes a hike and then comes back with this...

what I saw in this is that you got your muse back, she'd been visiting, I see, and brought with her the discourse of many, many minds....

well done Moth-Girl....

I can't pick one line on this one sorry!  The whole poem is fantastic.  By the way, I read what you read, and you "really" read!  You take the time to understand, read, and respond in such a way one know's that you "read it"!  I hope I made sense just now, I am a "tad" excited!    This was a phenominal piece of writing JM, but that does not surprise me in the least.
