The Sharpened Sword

The blade’s been ground to bite like razor’s sting
This stropped and whetted sabre in your hand
It’s slice will make the still of breezes sing
And whip through air in whistling command

The sharpened sword has flushed your pulsing vein
You ready with a balestra to free
The fine honed words your hand can but contain
And lunge into the heart of poetry

The sword pricks velvet ribbon in her hair
With just a touch of sweetness to undo
The scarlet bow that bound her curls so fair
A slice as smooth as lily blades in dew

Etching with finesse of butterfly
Whose mystery between the phrases lie
With rapiers to slice a hemlock hedge
These poets who write verse with double edge

Elizabeth Santos

I don't recall seeing this before, and with words etched in blue as these are, I would have remembered it...

'tis beautiful, Lady....

Nope, I remember them all!  This was fantastic and I loved these lines:
"Etching with finesse of butterfly
Whose mystery between the phrases lie
With rapiers to slice a hemlock hedge
These poets who write verse with double edge"

Words can certainly be as sharp as any sabre... and can probably wound even deeper - a job well done, m'friend..
