A Gentle Autumn Melody

A leaf  proclaims its departure,
flutters on a melody and lands in my heart.
It sings a theme of never ending change;
a silent echo of renewal, of better things to come.

Glowing in prismatic magenta,
its colorful hues warm my spirit
with promises of new beginnings
wisdom and artistic evolution.

Caught in a whirlwind, it staggers,
unsure of its destiny,  yet,
trusts nature to take its course
in the miracle of birth and death.

On spirited wings it lands on a bed
of barren ground for a peaceful rest,
until Spring announces rebirth of budding trees
and gives the leaf  a voice to serenade life.

Embalmed with a feeling of  serenity
and belief that everything has a purpose,
a meaning in our adventurous journey,
a manifestation in the cycle of life.

Oh Maggie, do I have to tell you how your words always soothe and warm my heart?  I am not sure there is anyone that calms me with poetry as you do.  This was simply beautiful poetry of your soul.  And for you a pretty Autumn "Flutterwings".

Sharon, Dawn, and Janet Marie, I want to thank you for  the kind and inspiring comments. Fall is soon coming and as lovely and poetic as it may be.... it announces the chilly breath of winter. But, that is all in God's plan.
THanks again...   Maggie ((~.~))
