~* A Tangle Of Jealousy *~

In a tangle of jealousy you held me,
too close believing I was part of you,
so close that you couldn't see me.
Did you not see that in the strong-hold,
and tangled obsession of your needy arms,
you drowned my spirit and soul,
in the waves of untrust in that capture?

Your fear of amputation of my love,
made for the heavy bricks of obligation,
with which we built our stronghold on,
this we strangely called fidelity.
We built a deep moat, closing the drawbridge,
and you kept me tethered inside,
with an umbilical cord never to be cut.

I smile now as I remember you suffering,
while all the while I festered
in your cold womb; poisoning you,
with the oozing toxins of impossible grief
How did I keep them concealed,
beneath the stretched and smiling skin
Of that sickening commanded love.

Did you not feel me writhing inside you
struggling to get out?
You resisted parturition for so long,
and my birth, after such a long, painful labour
has left us both worn out my dear,
and you are without me now, childless.

Now free from your confinement
I feel like a motherless child.
Do you even recognize me with a smile?
Do you now even begin to understand,
what was a cry of hunger?
Listen for the empty spaces,
between my sentences, and hear me.
All I wanted was the very things you craved,
Love, trust, freedom but I needed more,
I needed to feel like a woman!

Oh the suffering of being oneself when the other is suffering to be in control. I know this well. There is no freedom from jealous hearts. They really do chain you a prisoner. This is expertly penned and I hope you never allow anyone to chain your words. As it seems you've scaled the walls of your captor very vividly in this. Much applause!

Sincerely,
Regina

rwood ~I heard that song on the radio by Shania Twain, and decided to write a wee ditty for all the women held captive by jealousy that got free, so I thank you for your support on this one!

Mysteria, I love the break free idea with this and the music just tops it off.

Sharon...this is certainly a message I can closely relate to ~ being a prisoner of love is certainly not being a partner in love...and that makes all the difference.
(I loved that picture, too!)
Hugs and smiles to you, ~*~dawn~*~

I needed to feel like a woman!" My favorite line...but you know this can have serious side effects!!!!!
Sharon, dear one, I haven't found the perfect chemical cocktail but I tell you what...I'm having a fabulous time trying!
I'm taking it slow and you know I can't hide in a closet!  That didn't come out right.
Well, I'm sick, what do I know

Mysteria
This was wonderfully written with such powerful words.  More power to you for breaking the chains and freeing yourself.
Take care......Sue

Martha - big difference!  Great to free isn't it?  Thanks for the comment.

Dulcinea - So sorry to drag up old baggage, but sometimes better to face the demon and then decard it, have fun being a woman!

Irish Rose - Glad this gave you some cheer, take care of yourself, and thanks for reading this little silly thing.

Sue ~ This is for all the gals that are being held in mental or physical bondage, and just wanted them to know there is happiness on the otherside of courage to leave.  Thank you for responding to it.
