The lighthouse still stands
Guiding ships to safe harbors
Off the rocks and sands
Passing each on waves that dance
Location known by a glance.

I once visited a lighthouse...I  loved the view from the top and the strength of it's being...remember this one?

Keeper Of The Light

In silent dreams of yesterday
Hearing music of the sea
In voice across the waves, that sway
And dance her melting heart for thee
Standing lone, she lights her keep
Vanilla  scenting on her mind
In silent dreams, her vigil sleeps
Till comes the morn and voice she finds
Of ships that sail her body, blue
Or rest upon her soft white beach
She's lived courageous standing tall
As eyes behold return of each.

I wish I could write like that again......

I come in for a good read, and am delighted to find two...

well done, Professor, for keeping me on my toes...

and to you, Wynter, for taking it a step further...

I am de"lighted" by both of you!

Hi Gloom,

A lovely and haunting scene you paint of the lighthouse in this poem.

Enjoyed,

PG...I love this...I've got this "thing" for lighthouses. May I have your permission to cross-stitch this as it would go beautifully with the lighthouse cross-stitch that hangs in my hallway? Say yes.
