Was the sun playing tricks on my eyes
or did I really see you on the beach today
under the warm golden rays of the sun?

You emerged from the water with
your skin so wet and golden
exuding health and happiness
Then within no time at all
the clouds came over
and the sun was gone

Sheets of rain swept across our
beautiful beach and the wind
whipped up into a frenzy
Then I looked for you but
you were nowhere to be seen

Maybe you were just a figment
of my imagination
a memory I just can't forget
an image I cling to for comfort
and in times of loneliness

Along with the rain went my happiness
This perfect Summer day
had lost its golden glow
had lost the sun
lost its warmth
and I had lost you

I stood on the sand gazing out to sea
as I wrapped my arms tightly around me
as all that remained of
this perfect Summers day were
my perfect memories of you

Nicely written and tender, dreams are an avenue to happiness.

Throw your heart out in front of you
And run out to catch it.

Good Day again, Sue!  This one had a special tenderness and ethereal quality to it...  I think it comes down to your belief systems and degree of open-mindedness -- perhaps it really was who you thought simply letting you know that they're not really gone and just wanted to remind you that you are still loved from another space...?  Enjoyed, as always.
