To fill a Sack

Upon the dogma of belief
I road into a field of green
And wiped my eyes of tears relief
And turned to stay this quarantine

The nectar of the flowers fed
Their odors and their gentle feel
And turned away the shadows dread
To bodies peace and mental heal.

I was at peace a time at least
Until the dogma ate the green
Until once more came on the beast
Of questioning the in-between

Then dogma took the road again
To search another Shangri-la
To find another valley’s ken
And sleep beneath a wishing star.

How many wishes fill a sack?
When I know this than I’ll be back.

It depends upon the wish... Sometimes one can fill the sack if it's a big one... I like this, Sy..

This is wonderful...it will take forever to fill that bottomless sack of yours, so take a break now and then from your gatherings to pen us a few more poetic wanderings...

I so enjoyed this...

Excellent poetry Seymour!   I don't think the sack ever gets filled does it? It's the search for the difference that seems to create those moments of peace...... Those creeds of tradition are ever pushing time into the fore and robbing us of our inner peace!
