Six Foot Two of Solid Try

I did ten years in prison-
For a dumb mistake I made.
I rode the prison rodeo,
That was my former trade.

The only time I felt alive-
Was coming out the chutes-
I'm six foot two of solid "try"-
From my hat down to my boots.

They say I'm tall for buckin' stock,
And that may well be true...
It's all I've ever lived for-
And all I want to do.

Thirty four and aging fast-
But I've got cowboy roots,
I'm six foot two of solid "try"-
From my hat down to my boots.

They say I'm gonna kill myself-
If I keep on ridin' bulls-
But I sure get a charge inside,
Each time my rope is pulled...

When I'm dead and buried-
Carve on the stone, this truth-
He was six foot two of solid "try"-
From his hat down to his boots.

Reminds me why when I was a kid I wanted to be a cowboy.
