Walking Toward You

Sneakers grow
grass-tinged, wet
prairies’ green
tickling
back of legs,
still the dew is not
enough and all
is in need of
rain

sun glints sparkle
off golden-red curls,
I lift my face
to take in
passionate rays,
feeling their
permanence

cool breezes
bring in
the first
thoughts of how
fast summer
went, after
all

traces of humid still
hang heavy in
my heart,
lowering into my
center, solid
reminders of getting
through this

to you

the walk is not
lonely, now, for
promises of all
my tomorrows
hang on your
very word

every word
cherished

with a spider’s silk
ribbon
you have bowed up
all gifts
ever needed

a spider’s silk,
so tenacious
in its steeled
splendor,

promises
are just
that

your word
is
key

in doorways
of many
tomorrow’s
to come

your pledge
remains

so now in wet
grass-stained sneaks,
I shall watch the
spider spin
spun promises,
knowing the key to
life, its
significance bearing
more than
lost hope

for there is none,
now

as I walk toward you,
and my smile
shall cast
shade
in which
we shall
reside

Decaf....I've been struggling for days with an "August" poem. Still no luck. This is nice. Bob

Feels like Im dancin with truth and wisdom
Precious rhythm you are my guide
These days are sacred, my heart is humble
Oh warrior show me thy light
