Sweet, sweet pillow
Soft and Downy fresh
How I long, to hug you
During the hours of wake
Even when sleep never comes
Still you cradle my head, warm
Poor, poor pillow, I wear you out
Still you await me, day after day
The long hours, that I leave you
Seems you'd just run away
But there you are, all fluffy
Ready for my dreams, my nightmares
Whatever happens, you are there
Holding my tears, keeping them safe
Even when I'm angry and pound you
You amazingly, regain your shape
When no one is there, to hug me
You are there for me to hug.
Your silence, keeps me devoted
I will not share you, unless
He accepts the fact, that you and I
Are friends, till the end, My Pillow.

A pillow for my wiery head
Awaits as friend upon my bed
To hold me in its warmth and keep
To comfort me through time and sleep

Dear Regina, you told me all about your pillow, making me relise how we all take them for granted.
We get inspiration from many things that are part of our lives.

Stay well rested, enjoyed the pillow talk.

Rick

Ah, good. I did a poem of pillows, and am glad to know that I am not alone in thinking that it is indeed something that we take for granted, not realizing how important they are to our nights!

Nice to see such a wonderfully crafted piece expressing what I consider to be the strength at the end of my day when I can't reach out and touch the one that elevates my dreams.  Beautifully penned and of course, I don't take any pillow for granted.
