~Help Me Grow~

mommy, why do birds fly high
if birds can fly then why can't I
and why must I be tucked in tight
while raccoons get to play all night

mommy, what makes stars shine bright
the angels must have flashlights...right
and what makes the moon run from the sun
doesn't he think that the sun is much fun

mommy, how can fish live there
under the water without any air
and how do bees make honey sweet
and how do they give it to us to eat

mommy, who makes the flowers grow
there's so much that I want to know
like who makes trees grow big and tall
when I'm not big and tall at all

mommy, where does Jesus stay
that He can hear me when I pray
He must be close...I feel him near
each time I whisper in His ear

mommy, tell me everything
my questions may be tiring
but you have much to teach, I know
I'm glad you're here to help me grow

This reads as sweet as the love of a mother should be and you share it well.  The rhyme is excellent and the cadence is a hit.  Well done for sure.

Vicky, this reminds me of my own sweet daughters growing up. The eternal questions used to bug me but now sometimes I wish they were still that young and asking so much. There is nothing like the complete trust and love from a child.

Reminded me too of when they would ask and ask and ask. Thank you, Vicky for this.

Vicky~
You've touched the heart of this mother~

How precious the questions ...
how tender the ears that wait for the answers~

This is so very charming...what every mother hears, and sometimes doesn't have time to jot down - the most interesting of all questions come from the lips of our children....

Thank you for this Vicky....now go out and water your child with happy tears....

Well Vicky I have done this through two generations and the questions have stayed exactly the same thus far, except for Pokemon and Winnie The Pooh questions, so I saved this for a little one who is going to really ejoy your words, well done~!
