The Shores of Alone

She'd been away so long it seemed
eons of sadness filled her life
she missed her friends beneath the sea
the world above so filled with strife.

She sat upon the rocks in gaze
with hopes her father would appear
then slowly, as if in a haze
Neptune appeared, called "Do not Fear"

If it be time to come back home
step off the rocks and come with me
no longer live in constant roam
come now, and live your life of free.

She took his hand and held on tight
and went back to her place of right.

yes when out of our depths or element..it is a comfort to be given the hand to find our way back...

nicely done. I enjoyed for its story telling quality as well as what the reader might take from it as a metaphor for their own life

A lovely piece......
And I agree with all that has been said.....

It could be a simple fairy tale.....yet telling more than that...

You have done wonderfully Sandra....

Thank you

Once in awhile we run across a poem that really lends itself to a peaceful transition and this lovely piece does just that.  An exceptional write using the expansion of metaphors across our lips as we read and done so with your ever-growing talent.  I loved it much and the depth of thought within it as well.

A lovely rhyming piece, showing the longing which waits in the heart till time, the opening of a door to freedom and then the hand of welcome. The soul then free.

Great work.
