Gravel crunch
grating stone slip
sounds as feet
tread on ways
up or down

empty ears filled
not with voices ground
but other words
from other times
and other planes

wandering alone
on river's side
I find in me
histories

Sharp flint scraper
ancient skeleton
sea life left long ago

I am not the current
but I am part of
the stream

This current runs swift and cool....the imagery is wonderful, but this:

Sharp flint scraper
ancient skeleton
sea life left long ago

this comprises the best lines....

I am not the current
but I am part of
the stream

and that is the journey
some very good lines in this
like how it goes from the concrete
and goes universal

nice work, Cpat Hair

Great imagery...I like these last lines best:

I am not the current
but I am part of
the stream

it seems to be true, the stones do talk, don't they, you seem to be listening

I suppose we are all merely along for the ride now that you make me think about it....and you did.
