I read between the syllables
where dust and seeds once laid
perception grew in multiples
and trust began to fade.

The walls were closing in on me
the sun was going down
and though I didn’t want to see
I saw and read the sound.

The sound of words and masterfully
were played and played so well
it took me over heaven’s sea
to plunge me into hell.

I’ll never tell a living soul
the reason for my pain…
but yes, my life has paid the toll…
I’ll never trust again.

The first time we give trust, it's fairly easy - but as it's abused, we realize how fragile it is and how hard it is to offer again. And eventually, trust can be destroyed - Then we're left with a hole in our heart. You've written that desolation very well in this sad poem.

The best part of poetry is 'between the lines'. Yours succeeded in touching the souls of others... the ultimate triumphant goal. They saw that which made the impression... from 'between the lines'. Welcome to Passions in Poetry. Looking forward to seeing more of your work.
