I don't like him, but I loved him once.
The Evil Mickey Mouse of Disney Land.
He only came around in Guilt, seeking
To release his convictions, sore
From Looking at others with their daughters.
When his Little Princess was home, crying
Begging to know what castle he ran to.
She is Cinderella now, wispy and crystal
Clear of pain. Her glass slipper, now
Combat boots of individuality, kicking
Butt, to society's stereotyping. Gracefully.
What would she possibly need, or see
In a Cartoon Character, smirking
Behind his suit of armor. The Cheshire
Grin of fake. He never once sang to her
The "Now's the time to say good-bye" song
He just ran his big floppy feet away.
But we went on. I must have done something
Right, or else she would have been
Sleeping Beauty, for today, what she said
Was, Fake people drown, in their own
Disguises. So I take it, I don't have
To wish I were a Giant Gumby anymore.
Erasing him from the next screen.
He'll just smother in his Mickey Suit.
She is wise.

Too many wascals drop what they think is the bomb of birth and run from the explosion of life. Caricatures of cartooned creatures who forget the responsibilty of fatherhood. Enjoyed and glad she's so strong.

Dear Regina, I am so glad you have your writing to escape with, your mind has caught so many images and thoughts over the years, we are the lucky ones to catch the images through you words, (intense and slightly scary that a cartoon charactor can bring these images to ones mind and stay for so many years). You keep us all wondering of the next to come.

Stay well.

Rick
