Not Really Gone

stretching towards all
in billows, swathing
close, grounding even
gull on wing
edging low ‘cross
blue swells, fading to drab
day’s light

still, we remain
in the offing,
yearning for that sheer
song of mist,
forgetting not fog’s
cool enveloping o’er
these senses

sand clinging as memories
of only our
yestermourns,

heavy sighs seizing
space, stirring
visible droplets left
hanging, suspended by
physics’ apparition

seeing your
tribute through the grays
of consume

this shore, lonelier
now without you
but still your
words echo
like the
fog’s
horn

in memory of a poet-friend

Lady...this is lovely..in both inspire and intend...I knew it was for him when i saw the title....
no.."not gone" .... not from our hearts, nor memory and the archives hold him close to us.
I was reading him Sunday night.
You've done him just...once again.

And I often play among the sandcastles he left us~
Sifting the sands of his thoughts~
Thank you so much~

It is funny you posted this today, I was in the archives reading his work.  I did not know him well but I am getting to know him now!  A lovely memory.
