Waterproofed

A life still under plastic,
everything for sale.
Waterproofed, tear-stained bits
of me in fine detail.

A still life under plastic,
downpours, soaking thoughts.
Every piece, a memory made
of happiness, now lost.

Bits of me, with bits of you
combine to treasure hold.
Someday mine, beheld in yours
again becomes true gold.

~Wynter

A spell of longing from the wand of your pen...endearing work.

It sounds very sad ... so I'm sure it is~

to see your most treasured items  going on the auction block..or to not know how much or what to value a piece of your life so that you can  hold onto what's  left...not a fun thing to  do, Marge...and after awhile it looks like a collection of "junk" and you wonder...was this my life...thank you *s

painful...and extremely hard to let go of the things that we have valued...for what ever reason...

nicely written...and my sympathy for the experience it was written about...

Cpat, walker and Shadow of the fall...

thank you for your caring remarks. It is hard to  detach yourself and sell  some belongings. Mostly collections  that took years to accumulate and were reminders of  travels and good times. But they are the easiest to sell to others..and like  some  friends have said..they will go to others and become their treasured items...

I understand - Been there - Done that... It's not easy, but look at it as making room for more?... Nicely written, Wynter..
