Plumed Soft, Tis the Babes Head
Rapture of pink, in scented cheek
Gracing all with winking sight
To open the love lights, new
In glorious vision of birth

Staging shows, for those to laugh
Singing songs learned stuttering
Laughing the belly laugh, of tickle
Finding new facial expressions, days
Of staring and mimicking the close

Riding bikes, swimming high seas
Still you ran to me, scraped, hurt
I bandaged the pain, kissing heart
I made the boogeyman run away, scared
Still my pillow shared, your head

And now your little books lie sacred
I read them once in a while, touching
That part of my fairy tale, pinned
To my heart, my soul, tamed with love
Even as you waltz, in my shoes, dating
I would still let you dance on my feet.

Dear Regina, what a wonderful memory and write, I am thankful my daughter is still only ten (going on twenty), there has been much love you your home many dances on your feet.
You have created a fairytale of your own here which you have lived.

Great work.

a wonderfully tender and lovely write. Quite expressive in the emotions and as hard as it is at times to let them grow and go..we all know it is as it must be...still we would let them dance on the tops of our feet...

very nicely done
