Shoulder to shoulder...ready to run
The moment to shine had just begun
Wind at your back...sun on your face
You felt so free running that race

As you shared the day...I was with you
Seeing as you saw...just how you flew
Passing your rival...free from all pain
That day you shined...like never again

You proved to them you were the best
You ran for yourself....unlike the rest
The medal meant more than first place
It says you conquered...a personal race

When you look back...this moment in time
Remember the breeze...and the sweet sunshine
Know I was there...as now...cheering for you
I saw how you ran....Oh....how you flew

********

Sometimes a friend shares a moment with you
and until you weave it into words so they can see it through your eyes...they never really know how they've touched you.  Thank you Mark for sharing this moment with me, so that I can share it with you~

**Sorry folks...I left my cookies on mom's puter and then came home...needless to say I need to clean up my crumbs when I leave  **

Butterflies, my kid, not sure what this is all about, but am so happy you shared it with us.  Also, Mark, glad things are doing well for you.  ME

Hey you!!!!
Loved this.
But I believe, sometimes people are brought into our lives to do a certain thing, and then they move on. (Well, it's certainly been the theme of many of a  tv program so it MUST be true)

But hey to Poet Mark...and HEY TO POET YOU!!!! Missed you BOTH much.

OKAY.....so if anyone can reach inside me and make me get all emotional then it would be you and then you do it by posting this beautiful poem about something that means more to me than words could ever say.  You know this one got to me and of course you know that I will forever cherish not only it but also the wonderful where I was able to share this with you.  Not many people know or will ever know but you not only know ... you understand and that makes the world of difference to me.  Saying thank you doesn't seem to quite cover it but I can't afford to buy you your own island so please just accept the knowledge that you will forever find a place next to me as a very dear friend.  Hope that is enough.  Hugs to you for being you and for all you are.

Thank you so much to all of you that were able to share this moment in time through this poem, I made a promise to myself that someday I would write this as a gift to Mark, it took a while...ok quite a while...but regardless..it was written and Mark...you are most welcome my friend...although my own island would be nice...your thanks are more than enough~

Such a beautifully uplifting piece Butterflies ... it's wonderful to read your words again, and such a delight to see this lovely piece dedicated to Mark. Much enjoyed the beauty and inspiration you have captured here.

Best wishes,
/Kit
