Trip to Cool

I am going to take a trip to cool
leave behind breathless air
and the moisture filled bellowing faces
that peer over the mountains
with daggers of exploding power
that fire across the dry

I am going to the blue pacific
and stand in damp sand
watch children jump wave riffles
water frolic glee
me

I am going to run with water
and dive into the blossom
sink into the swirl
pass the line of care
that sometimes falls so heavily
that the heart breaks

Then just cork
past the reef and jetty
water purring in my ears
the sun a tunnel of light
and be other than I

The heat will drown and sink
the sun melt behind line of eternity
and my chair will float
yes it will
into the cool

Head west from those Santa Anna winds,
crest the Pacific for a swim.

Martie~
Of course you could always come to the Atlantic~

Between the water and a grape Popsicle we'd have the heat beat !
Love ya', gal~

Not knocking the Atlantic...but the Pacific's where it's at!

Sounds great to me Martie, and since Sunshine's got the basket, I'll bring the wine, beer, water, or whatever quenches thrist.

Enjoyed this much.

Oh, Martie...
   I wanna go!
I could use a break from this Phoenix heat!
We could both go hang out with Marge,
but make mine an orange popsicle.
   Very cool, indeed, my friend!

what a lovely, dreamy plan

it was 104 here yesterday, well that's the highest I know of anyway
I wanna go to the pacific and watch the bobbing children and feel the cool spray of the sea
take a little just for me, please

Wanna head a little north?  Across the border is the best little cook this side of heaven and she is waiting with open arms for the whole family anytime you want?  Great poetry Martie!

Kathleen--Heavenly probably and only from my imagination.

Karilea--any beach will do as long as there's peanut butter and sand sandwhiches.

Hi Denise--thanks for stopping by

Maree--You have your own cool, girl...but you're welcome to mine anytime.

RS--You sound like you have been here.

Janet Marie--ah gosh, yes!...LOL..I'm still peeling.

Marge--If I could I would!

Jimmy...bring it all and lots of ice!

Vicky--You're not that far away to take a trip to the beach.  You can stay at my bed and breakfast.

Shadow--That was my reason for writing it...thank you for feeling it.

Sea--I didn't know about the town "Cool".  Must be sort of like "Harmony".

Constance--thanks so much for the beautiful

Virginia--wow, that was hot for Oregon.

Sharon--I may take you up on that some day.  I'd sure like to ..and thanks for the invite.
