Your face appeared Out of nowhere Didn’t even recognize The face of sultry encounters Shared when we were Younger Fiercely independent Yet not ready to face the world Because of What could be Back when seeing you Was a big secret When my out-of-town excursions Opened my eyes to What could be Monday morning staff meetings Filled with the sense Of your presence And the smiles Everybody could interpret I know now Everybody knew What could be Ten years later There you are Making me question my choices No, no regrets Just thoughts of What could have been 08/03/01 |
