Listening to every heart

0 posted 2001-08-12 04:49 PM

What we Share

you wear it so well
sentimentality’s shawl
on you it looks good

gratification
on the strings of violins
smiles come willingly

by the purest voice
the pull on our hearts so strong
tears well in our eyes

timing of feelings
when unbidden come sweetest
deeply felt this joy

angelic nature
decreed by siren’s singing
unveiling desires

now we share as one
sentimentality’s shawl
receiving our hearts

Sunshine - what a beautiful hommage and a very insightful journey.  This struck a major chord with me - thanks!

Gee!  I just learn to do it one way, now you throw this at me (I do have a much greater appreciation for the beauty in this, and the work involved, with the understanding I've gained, whereas before I breezed past Haikus (this is what this is...right??)) but now, tell me what the difference in this Haiku and the way I did it is so I can try this...please....I understand this is not nature based but I don't quite catch the basis for the third line...

Oh well, should have asked this in email so I'll quit and just read and re-read till I figure it out...

Love the write though...but then, Sunshine wrote it, so would have anyway.

Well! Just got finished reading Nan's definitions back in the Workshop forum and  now assume this is Senryu??
