In a corporeal internship...

Barbarous sycophants
Belching
Sugary lies

Anorexic hearts

Greedily devoured
By
Starved glut

Some
Morsel
Of
Hope

Indeliably
Growling
With

Despair

Mark,
Exquisitely dark, and all consuming.  I hope you are not dwelling in this place of ominousness, as you belong back "Somewhere In Time" being romantic and fulfilled...

Dark sounding, not sure entirely what you are getting at here, except to keep hope no matter what.
Anything else?

Elise, thank you, and no -- I'm definitely not dwelling there;  I just simply enjoy running by it periodically and seeing the unbelievable sights as I pass it, for it gives me some inspiration with which to comment on what I've seen.  Thank you for the observation, too -- I confess that I must concur...

Connie:  ...there's a lot in there...  Thanks for the read and consideration.

Sandra:  Plenty else, actually...  My first impressions with the imagery this poem elicits are the nauseating mendacity of @$$-kissers -- people who will say anything to get ahead, regardless of sincerity.  It's also usually at the expense of a naive heart that doesn't know any better and is starved for acceptance and acknowledgement, constantly getting taken advantage of and learning the hard way that few are truthful, but many are willing to jump at the chance of "projecting" their problems and issues onto others...  Given all this, it is very hard to maintain hope and a positive outlook, but I feel it is never-the-less essential...  I guess that pretty much sums it up, from one perspective on this piece...

Liars, start with butter! And the feed goes on into a frenzy. They have no life so they sap yours. Powerfull verse! A cholesterol free compliment.

Angst's indigestion to those whose flowered praise is prelude to rolling you out for the carpet of their ego. Enjoyed.

You have some deep thoughts in here Mark, not sure how I missed all that.
