~Peace Be The Gift~

though sunlight surrounds me
I'm caught in a cloud
a storm of emotions
in darkness of shroud

I, faint, hear the laughter
beyond sorrow's door
joyous sounds muffled
as rain starts to pour

soul trembles coldly
at lightning within
thunder cries out
as the torrents begin

then out from the storm cloud
a rainbow appears
sunshine peeks through
lending dry to my tears

a promise of love
paints a canvas of sky
peace be the gift
from the Artist on high

Vicky, this is so wonderfully beautiful and inspiring   -it's one of your best!  I found peace in the last two verses, I really love this, it's a keeper, for sure

If Peace resides in the rainbow, let there be rainbows 'round the planet. I love rainbows as much as I love auroras, magenta sunsets, misty mountains, and thunderous waves crashing on the shore.  I really enjoyed reading this poem.

Well I read it metaphorically, and it read so well out loud!  And yes, let there be rainbows, and *winks* don't we know one?  This is one of my favorites of yours now Vicky.
