To Sleep with Stars

If I could paint a place to go
it would be a twisted trail
bending bough and shadow dwelt
with slanted masts of sun’s inhale

I’d dwell in turning curving world
moving over sand dune’s face
with a hand held out to blowing warmth
the fleeting moments movement’s trace

In springtime sweet peas tenderness
I’d find the way to evening sky
and dim the meadow of lantern light
to sleep with stars in hushaby

Would you like to take my hand
the twilight starts and days at end
come open heart on spreading dome
and sleep with me in bright love’s glen

Martie~ This is the reason I've missed this
place...your poetry brings peace to a hectic
world my friend and you share it with such
tender grace~

I would you like to take your hand,
And run and play until days end.
Smell the flowers, hear the birds,
And in a tent, sleep in your glen!

And if there were a tiny fairy or two,
Tiny tots would smile without fail,
For if you had expanded on this poem,
Why Gramma, there's your first fairytale!

He he...the devil got me Martie
This was absolutely beautiful, I kept it for the munchkin!

have I told you lately that cadence becomes you?
you wear it WELL my sweet poetess...you wear it well...
this was a melody when read aloud...
no matter how you write..your muse makes music...poetic harmony
me

I know no one is to blame
In time youll feel strength when you call my name
I know Ill never hold you again
And I know Ill never be the same

lovely Martie, as usual....

your images are always a pleasure to read and see how you craft the visual out of a few words...

I enjoyed!
