Putting down the phone
he straightened his tie, ran
his fingers through his hair,
took one more look at the light
on the printer to assure
its malfunction, and then
on the desk he sat
in his best casual stance,
and counted the seconds
until she would appear.

Punctuality, he counted on
brought her around the corner
on the count of three two one.
Gesturing to the light
he shrugged no knowledge
of its plight.
Busy in the back, she didn’t
see the corners of his mouth
trying not to curve upwards
into a smile.
The printer soon purred and
pulsated into readiness,
as she said “Its fixed.”

“How?...I did all that,
I wiggled the plugs, I tried
to get it to work, I didn’t want
to have to call you” he lied.
With a twinkle in her eye and
a playful grin she said, “I guess
I just wiggle better than you.”

Her flirting caught him totally
off his usual guard and
he laughed out loud.
She did too, but a beeper’s beep
meant she had other things to do.
He watched her ‘wiggle’ as
she went on her way, and
under his breath, he said
“yes, you sure do...”

What a delightful read, it flowed right along telling a story I can definitely relate to.  And I do think at times...perhaps often times...men "play dumb," just so they can watch us women wiggle.  Hahaha!

I laughed out loud as I read this!   I'm sure he appreciated both well-done wiggles, and I appreciate the telling.
