The Shores of Alone

0 posted 2001-08-10 09:16 AM

Lover of mine, I don't forget
the touch of fire you placed on me.
Remember days when first we met?
Am I the only one who sees?

Lover of mine, though not, in fact
because you lay with someone else
completely disregard our pact
you leave me lonely on the shelf.

Lover of mine, at least at night
when darkness falls I come to you
through dreams, through maze of shadowed light
Tis time, my lover, come unto.

Hold not yourself away from me
Through merging we shall both be free.

A really well-done piece.....

You have wonderfully manage to control the tone of sadness there and mingle it with some hope and yearning.....

Thank you.......

Sandra

Many of us can relate to this writing.  But remember, life does go on. Well written.

It is hard to let go of a lover.  You have expressed your feelings well Sandra, with this beautiful heart-felt poem.

Wonderous dreams of those we only really need in pillow softness. Seems the rest is barbed wire, thus making us long for more. Maybe another will arrive to make every moment Dreamy! I hope so.

Catalinamoon,

"I don't forget"

Oh so very true...we never forget.

I love this line:

"through maze of shadowed light"

The words in this poem are so very poignant, I can definitely relate.

Powerful read!

you are a spinner of magic words, a web of emotions that touch all who read!  This is bittersweet and leaves me with the desire to taste it again!

The road goes on forever, and the stories never end...

Seems so difficult for the one who waits on the shelf. To die a slow death of Co-dependency. It is sadder than the betrayal of trust and commitment.

Everyone who touches us receives part of ourselves, and everything we give makes us either stronger or weaker. Take strength in knowing you are always, always true to yourself.

Ah so sad

You don't have a choice to die but you do have a choice how you meet it.
