Never Have I

I have danced with a butterfly atop rainbows at midnight
I have kissed the lips of a goddess between Saturn's rings
I have witnessed births of pastel wings as they take flight
Never have I felt the elation that your tender smile brings

I have plunged into depths of a love in jeweled cascades
I have traversed the universe within realms of angel eyes
I have sung to melodies of fantasy in heaven's parades
Never have I felt a warmth that your soft touch supplies

I have flown on the golden wings of a whispering wind
I have taken the hand of a princess on diamond beaches
I have been gifted a vision of ancients to forever defend
Never have I felt the peace that your tender heart reaches

I have taken a breath of harmony within an eternal kiss
I have enhaled the aroma of passion on petals of the rose
I have slept on beds of nature exploring passionate bliss
Never have I felt love so pure as this path with you I chose

Mark Christopher

I have found in you ... a reflection of me ...
and a path to the peace I have sought.

Hey baby...I almost don't know what to say...this is just beautiful!  I don't think I have to tell you just what this means to me...I will hold it close to me always...you are a sweetheart, my love... ...and, as for the rhyme and cadence and all that technical poetry stuff--perfect, as always...just wonderful, my sweet one...

And what was once believed lost to "never"...
now becomes hopes & dreams of forever.

And no one wants this for you more than me...
A beautiful declaration of anticpation, devotion, and new found love...
This one time Im not going to give a technical critique...because all the superb cadence and imagery pales next to the promise of happiness and the discoveries of
your heart.
Ive always said...few can touch your vision when you're well inspired.
This is beautiful Mark.

Beautiful poetry Mark....exquisite!!   Thoroughly enjoyed the imagery!

Oh Mark ... I've missed you, I've missed you, I've missed you my friend!

What a beautiful rhyme scheme and flow, and so perfectly descriptive. These sentiments flow so deeply from the heart, and your repetition of "I have" and "Never have" is woven so expertly .... sigh ... just lovely Mark!

Best wishes,
/Kit

Thank you all for you wonderful replies.  I am sorry it took so long to reply but with my work schedule the way it is, I never know when I will be yanked away for a week or two.  The response is most appreciated though as are the wonderful words you all share with me and it does mean much.  Thank you all once again.

Beautiful writing Mark!      All those excellent illustrative metaphorical descriptions of life cascaded on through the verses until they're laid to rest on the sweet loving finality of your conclusion!

Mark

I haven't been here for a while, and I saw this one when I finally returned.  This is absolutely beautiful, I don't know what else to say.  She is one very lucky girl, I can only hope that one I day I find someone who has that much happiness being with me that you have found with her.

Beautiful.
