Knowing this: the time they have is fleeting
does not slow this tormenting ache within
nor persuade these two hearts as one, beating
to reduce their tempo, when skin meets skin

Yet they touch as though they have forever
engraving upon their souls, sweet entwine
as candles burn essence of lavender
bathing bodies in softly subdued shine

Love this pure calls to the night, gentle hush
passion guides them toward a heavenly height
dreams unfolding, without a need to rush
brings them to peak of romantic delight

Tender kissing by light of fading moon
These lovers find, morning has come too soon
