"Ancients of Ozymandias"

Sirius dots the sky on high.
The Pleiades wink as they pass by.
Andromeda and Pegasus appear as one,
Capella, Rigel, Aldebaron.

Ancients of Ozymandias
no mortal knows when they were new.
Hung in the heavens when time began
to inspire the thoughts and arts of man.

Pawns and kings alike, they stare
at all the wonderous light up there.
They shine and sparkle ever free,
and fill the dreams of fools like me.

In awe and wonderment I stand
head in the stars and feet on land.
My thoughts adrift, my shell remains,
my soul unbound by earthly chains.

superbly done. . . I like the opening, very strong and full. . .

to tie this in with Shelley's great poem just adds to the view. . .

well done. . .

Welcome to Passions, and thank you for this great poem.  I find myself sitting here singing, "Starry, Starry Night" for some reason!
