Sweet Blessings

Some day your sweet blessings will clearly appear
Though not seen this moment or even this year
For hardships have blinded the innocent eye
To wonders of life that are passing you by

If tears could unfold all the love you possess
Inside of a heartbeat, in moment’s caress
You’d recognize now what you save til the end
The joys wrought of family, of child and friend

If sorrow could make golden ribbons untie
Unleashing the blessings that silently lie
In every footstep, in every breath
Surrounding your essence from birth until death

You’d not have to wait til the coming of age
To recognize glory that’s scrolled on each page
Your joys are endowed in mysterious ways
Behind youthful tears in a blanketing haze

Some day you’ll look back on those days full of strife
As the garden of hope and the purpose of life
We strangely consider the times filled with tears
As the most splendid moments, the best of our years

The urge to cliche here is endless...the silver lining....smelling the roses....the good with the bad. In truth, it's never all bad but simply life as some know it. Enjoyed.

Elizabeth,
If we could live what we write
Wouldn't that be a light.
Lovely words. Sy

Have I told you lately how much I appreciate your writing and just the simple fact that you are you and you are here!  Well, I do

Opposites such as there is no joy without sorrow, no laughter without tears, etc. are all responsible for happy balance in life, and you just wrote the secret to taking the best out of the load we are given to keep in the "black" and not the "red".  A wonderfully inspiring poem, and I thank you.
