Slow Dance
By: Noah Eaton
8/7/01

From behind these auburn nylon clouds
The gods have delivered you to my beating chest
The dove doth cry on this murmuring eve
When the moonlight sheds a tear upon these whispering ocean nest

Oh, dance with me, sweet darling
High-heels and two-steps with the madrigals of angel swains
Swans suspiring to your crystal moans, puncturing my dizzy heart
Strum your mandolin, sweet princess, play on tillt eh light of day

In the velvet candlelight, let me hold you beneath these stars
Pose your gossamer wings to me, lift me to your constellation
I’ll kiss you so hard, I’ll leave you breathless
And hold you down slowly, until we sleep together in unison

I share my skin with you, I give you my heart to hold in your hands
Keepsakes we’ve treasured to share since we’ve been born
Turn off the light, skip inside my surreal haven
Prance about this world of pleasure, yours forever to adore

Playfully we’ll sway in this slow dance
Like young daffodils on a breezy June morning
Sousing under lavender dawn earthly showers
Of a new love so beautiful, that we’ll forever be reciting

This was such a beautiful piece of writing with such stunning imagery, especially in the last verse.  Take care....Sue

Oh I loved this one, and agree with Sue the last verse was the clincher!  Well done.

Your poem inspired me to play my "Lettermen" CD.I was swept away in memorys."When I fall in love","put your head on my shoulder".Breathing sweet purfumed hair and slow dancing with sweaty palms.
