From the shore
I watch a sailboat
Drift slowly by
It moves back and forth
Among the gentle waves
In much the same way
We travel the pages
Of our lives

The words we write
Flow from our hearts
In the gentle breeze
Of the cool waters
That make up
The lives we live
Here on this earth
Where we are blessed

The sail serves
As a navigational tool
Reminding me
Of the feeling I get
Deep down inside
That seems to always
Show me the way to go
When I feel lost at sea

Many times I felt this way
Unable to comprehend
The things that seemed
To always happen to me
As I watched helplessly
From the sandy shore
Of the beach within
The corners of my mind

Silently I scream
Trying to shout
Searching for someone
To hear my aching plea
One who would hold me
Gently soothing me
While I cried bitter tears
Of what has come to pass

Instead I sit alone
Among the rocks
Head hung low
As tears stream
Down my face
The sand below me
Warm and wet
With my sorrow

No one is here
To comfort me
Soothe me
Hold me close
Or tell me
It will be okay
No one sees
The tears I cry

My life has come
Back full circle
To the beach
Where I once
Felt alone
Then shared with you
And now I sit
In solitude again

All writing comes
by the grace of God.

I like that, well written and full of feeling.

Throw your heart out in front of you
And run out to catch it.
