This poem was inspired by a series of poems written by a poet named Brazos.

Eeeeeeeeep,eeeeeeeep,eeeeeeeep
I'hampster sit alone in a cage by a wire wheel hung on one side.
My paws hold a leaf of lettuce at my busy mouth.
I'm fat, bored and lazy and i sleep all the time.
A floor of shreded paper is my toilet and bed.
The kid who owns me barly gives me a nod.
I not for his mother I would already be dead.
I hear him comming.I panic and run on the wheel
going no where.

Eeeeeeeeep,eeeeeeeeep,eeeeeeeeeep
I see his face pressed against the bars of the cage.
He has a stupid cruel grin plastered on his face.

Squeeeeeek,squeeeeeek,squeeeeeeek
HeisliftingthelockonthecagedoorheopensthedoorandthrustshishandinsideandgropeswildlyformeIrunaroundthecagetryingtoavoidhisgraspbutnoavail

Eeeeeeeeep,eeeeeeeeep,eeeeeeeeeep
He grips me painfully in his sweaty fist
and pulls me out of the cage.
This is the part I really hate the most
He rubs my fur the wrong way
till I look like I have been struck
by lighting
Now he is shoving a foul smelling pellet
in my face.
My body fills with a rage that over powers my fear
I bite deeply into his thumb and he flings me
across the room
I quickly recover and scurry under the bed
He runs to get a broom and probes wildly for me
I am not there
I have ran through a hole in the screen

Eeeeeeeeeep,eeeeeeeeep,eeeeeeeeeeeep
Now I am free
My heart jumps for joy
I live in the park
I have been chased
I escape in the bushs
I listen to to all the other animal's talk
I know about cats but what is this
"road kill thing?

many people have felt that hole in the screen and taken the first true escape...

I loved this! Different, entertaining, very readable, plus, you let the little guy get away-cool!
