Dark clouds on my horizon
Wishing for warm summer rains to wash my life away

drip dry

leaving me a clear colorless slate

Can you see inside me?
Or are you looking through me?

and as I reach for a new box of crayons
(the biggest box they make ya'know
because life has too many hues and shades
to be limited to red, yellow, and blue)
I can't stop myself from wondering
Do you want to help color me too?

This is fantastic...twould be marvelous to the right person just for you.

Such a lovely, vulnerable thing to say/ask.  Superb.

Jeff this is wonderful. Showing playfulness behind the longing. Or is that the other way around?

This reminds me of the school psychologist who was wondering why the little boy always drew his pictures with a black crayon....and the little boy said "because that's all that's left...."

ah yes, nothing like a new box of crayons, and supersize me, please....

enjoyed!

Here's one of my poems you might like.

              Coloring book

          Color the cow green
          The grass black and white
          Color outside the lines
          It's OK!

rascalx--

I like the way you used the crayon and colors to illustrate what you are feeling.  Very well done!

Vas,
I actually wrote this with someone specific in mind (although she doesn't know it! heh heh  ) I agree that it would be so wonderful to be able to ask this of that "special someone" that all of us yearn for.

Mysteria,
Thank you so much for your kind compliments. And while you're here, take some crayons for yourself! lol This is one of those BIG boxes; I have plenty to share. Hey, who's hogging the "forest green" crayon?

Dee,
Thank you! Hmmm...maybe I long to be playful? or maybe I want to play for a long time?... (actually, I'm making light of my desire to be fulfilled by someone else's love  )

Lady in White,
Those super fat crayons are too cool. lol Especially when you're coloring blue sky! Just grab that sucker in your fist and start scrawling like a preschooler on a sugar high! (with my tongue sticking out of the side of my mouth as I concentrate!  )

Paladin,
LINES? You have lines on your paper? Darn, no wonder I'm having problems! lol
Thanks for the cute poem. (green is my favorite color too so I say let's hear it for green cows)

MyEnchanted Melody, Martie,
Thank YOU for reading; I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Sven,
Since you brought your own crayons, can I borrow your blue for a sec? Someone "bogarted" mine! lol Hey, who broke the burnt sienna? SHEESH!
Thank you, my friend; I always look forward to your kind and intuitive responses.

Hmm..Yanno, if someone colors you doesn't that make your sort of not yourself or does that add a certain special touch like the color of friends and lovers in our lives?   Well..made me think, it did! I enjoyed this, but obviously passed it up along the way.   Hope you're well!
