Sun kissed wing, shimming white against azure skies,
riding salt taste winds with haunting cries.
Little crabs scurrying in sideways dance,
to the rhythmic music of nature’s chants.
Muffled boom of swelling waves,
dripping softly with rainbow haze.

Mermaid treasures roll and tumble,
under breakers, with their rumble.
Shells and sand dollars without number
await the gathering from silent slumber.
Rushing foam licks sun warmed sand,
retreating reluctantly like a spreading fan.

Gray backed dolphins rolling beyond tidal rise
in majestic beauty for anyone’s eyes.
This is where I could spend my last days,
soaking in nature with her watery ways.
What can be better then this in my reach?
your hand in mine, as we walk that beach.

I myself born and raised by the ocean have a tremendous love for those waters, reaching out for the waves, your work is extremely beautiful, maybe upon your next long walk you'll see me there standing looking off into the distance admiring the beauty of her freedom.  Wonderful work!

Wow! Beautifully done! This appeals to both the romantic in me and the beach freak (I live in Myrtle Beach! lol) Wonderful "visual" you've painted here!

I've spent a lot of time recently, drooling over Wyland prints I can't afford.   Your poem is just as enchanting - a dream I'm going to print out and save.

Makes me miss the beaches of home...  Your last line resonated with wishful, nostalgic, and perhaps even a touch melancholy impression...  A picturesque poem, to be sure.
