Dusk’s pink sky distracts and lures my willpower away
As your eyes beam straight to the core of my vulnerable stability.
This evening, there are no obscure lyrics--just melody--
As your arms wrap me up and carry me
To an encounter of harmonized second winds...
These are times when I have no need for reason,
Just the violet of your charming perception...
The railroad track just beyond the window pane
Bears no effect on the gentleness you offer tonight...
Desire’s wind blinds me, and I walk obliviously to its light,
Where I drink of sweet satisfaction’s elusive wine,
Which flows from your lips to the desert of mine...
This dreamer’s fantasy lies within Luna’s intimate gaze
And immortalizes just above the roof that shelters our heads
From the disruption of interfering prudence...
No attention is given to doubt in this space,
Where we are eternally draped in love’s encircling flame...
As rain falls, insatiable hunger is gratified
By your attached heart’s natural reaction to my longing...
Done with instinctive wisdom and executed with celestial grace,
You guide my spirit to the awareness that
I’ve my choice of stars on this cloud...it’s up to me where the creek flows...
A vivid portrait of heaven is created right here beside me,
And forever is the trail to wonder just behind your eyes...

-kh

it was love that first drew me,
it is love that will keep me here...
now I see love burning brightly
when everything else is unclear...

this is so sensually soft and visually sating
wonderful poetic melding of imagery and nature to express and define the emotions
and HEY...I detect a spattering of rhyme here and there!!
Sooner or later you will have to give in to the call of cadence
VERY VERY COOL write poetess K

wont you sing me your poetry
wont you take me to your home
wont you be for me forever

snowpants, I agree with all above, and have to add that this piece brings to me the same feelings I got from "The Bridges Of Madison County"--a wonderful, passionate and tender moment, but something bittersweet about it. Love it.

And THIS is why you so easily captured my heart. (well, maybe not so easily, but none-the-less, you captured after all these months).  Sweetheart, this is an extraordinary write in so many ways ... I am just blown away.  Your imagery and your transfer of thoughts and emotions to the paper are 2nd to none.  The whole piece is beautiful from beginning to end and shows your heart and soul in every line.  Maybe that is why I can't wait to be holding you again.  The week just won't go away quick enough.  Big hugs and kisses baby.
