Agony and Ecstasy

Clowns and roses; baseball bats.
Special times with funny hats.
Sweet and mellow; angry fellow.
Love and hope; hard to cope.
Wise and tall; feeling small.
Great plans; unending demands.
Toy soldiers; getting older.

Ribbons and lace; realities to face.
Jostling joyously; stammering
                               temperamentally.
Heavenly dreams; tearful extremes.
Giving graciously; grieving grudgingly.
Laughter's joy; lost toy.

Beautiful things; empty it seems.
Wishing well; plans to tell.
Plan ahead; fear is spread.
Raise them well; time will tell.
Floating on high; tell a lie.
Playing house; living like a mouse.
Dreaming all; take the fall.
Living playful games; sadness remains.

Natural splendors; ashes and senders.
Peaceful meadows; answering to my fellows.
Gentle rain; angry refrain.
Birds melody; lions roar.
Flowers blooming; life’s entombing.

Answers to all and all is life.
Answers to all neither black nor white.
Reason and rhyme lasting throughout time.
Dual lives we all must live.
With our minds keeping time.
May one be as large as a mountain
And the other so small it’s hard to find.

Throw your heart out in front of you
And run out to catch it.

May one be as large as a mountain
And the other so small it’s hard to find. I love this line.
Life is the proverbial two sided coin isn't it. But maybe the worth is the same. The agony helps us realize the ecstacy. I enjoyed this very much!
Sincerely,
Regina

Shadow,
Each one of these lines could be enlarged into a poem. Well done.

A great write, shadow...I really enjoyed the look at opposites.  Without one there wouln't be the other...to my thinking.
